Congratulations to the U13 B team for their tournament win in Gananoque.
The Lyman Landscaping U13 B team made their community proud this past weekend by capturing the championship at the Gary Mangan Memorial Tournament in Gananoque. With a combination of determination, teamwork, and a commitment to hard work, the team overcame tough competition to emerge victorious.
The journey to the title began with the round-robin stage, where the team posted an impressive 3-1 record. Their sole loss came at the hands of the tournament's host team. The U13 squad’s three wins secured them third place and a ticket to the semifinals.
In a thrilling semifinal match, the team faced off once again against the host team. This time, the stakes were higher, and the players rose to the challenge. Fueled by lessons learned from their earlier encounter the U13s delivered a standout performance, defeating their rivals and earning a coveted spot in the championship game.
The final was nothing short of spectacular. Demonstrating the unity and resilience that had carried them throughout the tournament, the U13 team executed a flawless game plan against the Napanee Stars shutting them out to secure the win.
“It was truly a team effort,” said Coach Dave. “Every single player contributed, whether it was scoring goals, making big saves, or putting in the hard work on both ends of the ice. They played for each other, and that made all the difference.”
The team would like to thank the volunteers of the Gananoque Minor Hockey Association for hosting the tournament as well as the team sponsors for their continued support.
