SDMHA is happy to present our official Return to Play Development Plan for the upcoming 2020/2021 season.


Registration is now available online for the months of October through December 2020.  During this time, we will be providing development planning as approved by the OMHA in accordance with our current level on the Return to Play framework (available here).

A summary of the proposal is outlined below, and the full document is available to download here.


Summary

·         Players would be tiered based on the division they played in the year prior (BB or LL)

·         Teams to be created by current age category to form a development group (team) (BB and LL)

·         Coaches would be responsible for putting together a group coaching/management team

·         Each Development Group (team) would be responsible to have one individual in charge of Team Manager / COVID 19 protocols “ COVID-19 Ambassador”

·         Programming would be provided by team staff and outside OHF/OMHA Approved service providers

·         Fees and payments would be collected based on 9 Week Development Phase (Oct 19 – Dec 20)

·         3 vs 3 or 4 vs 4 would be part of our January plan to be worked on during November consisting of player evaluations and ranking

·         We have available ice to provide 34-40 hrs +/- of ice to the association per week

·         Fees are based on 15 players per development group (Team) and a for the period of Oct 19 Dec 20th


Tier 1

·         Players who were rostered to a BB Team during the 2019-20 Season

·         Players who have prior representative skill level hockey experience

·         Players who qualify under SDMHA Player Movement Policy to play BB Hockey

Tier 2

·         Players who were rostered to a LL team during 2019-20 Season or later

·         Players who generally have Local League skill level hockey experience

Tier 3

·         Players in the BB Midget age group

Tier 4

·         Players who are in the U-6, U-7, U8 (IP, Jr. Novice, Novice BB) age category

·         Parents from this group may be permitted to be on the ice while maintaining Facility Maximum Occupancy guidelines

Tier 5

·         Players in the U-5 Group or who have no prior hockey experience

·         Players who have never played hockey prior to the 2020-21 Season

·         Parents from this group may be permitted to be on the ice while maintaining Facility Maximum Occupancy guidelines
